Geological Survey of India Training Institute is origination in 1976. The GSITI centre for professional training in the country, objects at conducting state-of-the-art training in several disciplines of earth science. GSI is fully equipped with modern laboratories run by professionals and possesses organizational establish to impart training in the fields of earth science. The GSITI has conducted 434 Training Programmes and trained 8295 geoscientists of GSI, other earth science organisations, and universities of the country and as well geoscientists of ESCAP and other countries. GSI centre conducts field training in systematic geological mapping in the Himalayas and other allied disciplines like: Biostratigraphy, Engineering Geology, Quaternary Geology and Glaciology.
