BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) is a disease commonly known as mad-cow disease, is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease in cattle. Cattles Bones are used in India which are slaughtered are used for the manufacture of an edible product called Gelatin.
India was having undetermined risk category from OIE – World organisation for animal health. Now, after 3 years, India has been declared as a BSE negligible risk country. It has been added in the list of 13 countries of the world which have been categorized as having negligible BSE risk.
This will be boost to Indian Gelatine and Meat Industry.
